Specializing in scenic helicopter rides around the Central North Island and Tongariro National Park area, Kaimanawa Alpine Adventures also offer flights to drop off mountain bikers to ride their private 22km Kaimanawa Descent and folks enjoying the luxury heli-glamping experience.

Trail Distance & Ride Timeframe
  • The trail has a distance of 22km from the start of the track on Patutu Tops (1673m) and finishing at the KAA base area.
  • While riding the Kaimanawa Descent, there is close to 2500ft of descending and approximately 430m of climbing.
  • Plan for the ride to take around 3 to 4 hours to complete the trail. Timeframe varies based on rider's ability levels and speed you're moving.
