General Conditions of Ski Rental
Here at TCB Ski Board and Bike we take pride in the presentation of our equipment. All of our rental equipment is fully serviced before every hire.
You, as the customer, are responsible for any damage or loss to the equipment other than normal wear and tear.
Excessive Damage: Any excessive damage, such as a core shot and edge compression, will be charged for at workshop rates. This includes the materials needed to fix the gear, and the time required.
Lost/Broken Equipment: Lost or broken equipment will be charged for at the replacement cost.
If you leave your equipment unattended, and it is stolen or goes missing, you are responsible for the replacement cost.
Demo/Executive Rentals:
TCB requires a credit card for security bond.
Child / Student / Rates:
If a child fits children’s gear, they will be charged Child Rates. If a child fits Adult gear, they will be charged at Student rates.
The Student rate is for Students with Student ID.
Gear Rental Costs: At TCB, we only charge you for the first day of hire, any other days will be charged when you return the gear.
You will not be charged if the mountain is closed due to bad weather, but you will be charged if the mountain is open and you choose not to use the gear.
Refunds: if the mountain closes before you use your equipment, we will issue you with a credit note for the full value of your unused hire.
Note: Credit notes do not have an expiry date.

General Conditions of Bike Rental
• Risk acknowledgement: Adventure activities involve risks, including rough riding, damage, injury, illness, and weather conditions.
• Safety obligations: Riders must follow instructions and use appropriate safety equipment at all times.
• Liability waiver: By signing the rental form, the hirer releases TCB Ski, Board and Bike from liability for accident or injury arising from use of rental bikes or equipment.
• Equipment condition: All rental bikes and equipment are checked before hire. The hirer is responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear.
Damage and Loss
Excessive damage: Repairs will be charged at standard workshop rates.
Lost or damaged bikes/equipment: Charges are based on fair replacement value determined by management.
Pricing Categories
Rental pricing varies according to the type of bike hired.
- Child: 16” to 24” bike
· Student: Valid student ID required
· Adult: Any rider using an adult bike
Identification and Returns
Identification: Valid ID is required for all rentals. For E-bike rentals, a credit card is also required. Accepted ID includes a credit card, passport, or New Zealand driver’s licence.
Return time: Bikes must be returned by the agreed time. Late returns may incur an additional charge.
TCB MOUNTAIN BIKE HIRE CANCELLATION & TRANSFER POLICY
- If you provide 7+ days notice to us then it's no trouble at all to organise a refund or transfer the ride date.
- If it is less 3-6 days notice then we offer the ability to transfer the ride date.
- If it is 2 days or less then its non refundable or transferable.
- Overnight charge applies when you are not able to return your bike to TCB by 5pm and need to return the bike on the following day.
